Meet Your Team

  • Louanne Ferro (she/her)

    Owner, Stylist + Colorist

Most kids dream of becoming an astronaut or singer, but not Louanne Ferro.

Taking a pair of scissors like a duck to water at age 11, this San Diego native has a passion for hair that has taken her to the tents of NYFW and beyond.

A self proclaimed lover of science, Louanne has taken both college chemistry classes and is a certified trichologist through the International Association of Trichology.

She is the owner of Joy. A Hair Space. She has been a stylist since 2002 and a salon owner since 2013. She’s also been a international educator for corporate beauty brands since 2005 and currently working for Evo Haircare.

Every client is bound to learn something new about hair while sitting in her chair and don’t be suprised if you leave the salon with some hair homework!

  • Krystelle Rain (she/her)

    Stylist + Colorist

Jet setting from one end of California to another, Sagittarius, Krystelle is a two-territory stylist.

Although she’s currently living in the Bay Area, she pops down to San Diego often to spend time with her So Cal clients.

She’s been behind the chair since 2013 and recently became a distributor educator for Evo Haircare in 2022.

She loves to create custom colors by combining a lived in balayage look with the endless range of the color wheel. From soft and subtle brunettes, to bright blondes, and even loud pinks and purples, Krystelle will celebrate your unique color palate.

She’s also a guru when it comes to nutrition and went to school at Intergrative Nutrition- IIN.

  • Bug Valladolid (they/them)

Stylist + Colorist + Makeup Artist

Trained by some of the coolest cats in Las Vegas, Nevada, Bug is back home in San Diego to devote themselves to community care through hair.

A flamboyantly fruity femme with a knack for all things science and color, Bug dives into their craft with tenacity and technicality.

They have been behind the chair since 2022 and doing makeup since 2019.

They spark creative influence from the 80’s-90’s club kid scene, New Order, the drag scene, and the leather community.

Serving San Diego’s trans, queer, disabled, and neurodivergent population with a background in youth activism and national LGBTQ+ public service, Bug holds their work in this community with love and honor, encouraging everyone who sits in their chair to embrace their most authentic selves.
